Divine Mother College has established in the year 2001 by Divine Mother Educational Foundation for conducting B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology, B.Sc Nutrition & Dietics and two arts courses B.Com (Corporate Secretary ship) and BBA under Arts and Science College style according to the NOC (D.O.No.100831/Edn.Sectt/E.3/99 dt.18.12.2000; G.O. Ms.No.44 dt.27.09.199) issued by the Govt of Puducherry. The Divine Mother College successfully completed 12 batches of B.Sc Medical Lab Technology and one batch of B.Com(Corporate Secrataryship) so far.
The college has required infrastructures meant for running B.Sc Medical laboratory technology and other science programmes which holds 2.5 hectares land, building structures, class rooms, laboratories, library, Lab equipments and qualified teaching faculty etc.
All the students who have completed their course in this college during the previous academic years had successfully passed their degrees with good academic records. The students were highly and technically molded towards the clinical settings of current society. All the students were well settled in and abroad in various clinical setups.
The staff working in this institution were highly motivated and performed well in their academic activities. The College Management has also encouraged the staff to take part in various medical conferences at both national and international level and few of our staffs received best paper awards also. The staff members so far published 44 publications in both National and International Journals.
The students are also encouraged to participate in seminars, workshops, conferences and other implant trainings etc. Many of the students presented oral and poster presentations in various State /National and International conferences . The students continuously bagged prizes for their oral and poster presentations at various National/International Conferences conducted at various Universities/Colleges like Annamalai University, Periyar University, Kongu Nadu Arts & Science college, Coimbatore, Mother Therasa Institute of Allied Health Sciences Puducherry, Sri Venkateswara Medical College & Research Institute Puducherry, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science(Autonomous) Coimbatore, KSG College of Art and Science Coimbatore, Theivanammal College for Women(Autonomous) Villupuram, since 2003 onwards.
At present the Divine Mother College is governed by the BKP Educational Society currently running Allied Health Science Courses like B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology, B.Sc Operation theater Technology, B.Sc Dialysis Technology (both regular and lateral entry), B.Sc Medical Microbiology and M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology courses in collaboration with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut and Vital Council of Vocational and Research Training, Govt of India, New Delhi. So far 8 batches of DMLT students successfully completed their Diploma progammes in this campus and all are well settled in various hospitals in and around Puducherry and Tamilnadu.
The college regained its position during the academic year 2014-15 having collaboration with Chaudry Charan Singh university, Meerut and Vital Council of Vocational and Research Training, Govt of India, New Delhi. to conduct Allied Health Science and diploma courses in its campus.
The college has well established building structure with all necessary class rooms, laboratories, toilet facilities and other infrastructures etc meant for B.Sc MLT and other Allied Health Science and Diploma Courses. The Class rooms and Laboratories are spacious of 750 sq.ft and can accommodate more or less 40 students approximately.
The Divine Mother College handed over to BKP Educational Society during the academic year 2009-10 and the then chairman Mr.B.Kaliakumar(late) who was a UK qualified Charted Accountant and Business Management Graduate from ESCP-EAP (European School of Management Paris), Having a broad spectrum of knowledge, observations and experience gained both in academic and administration level in foreign education system worked on fulfilling the vision and dreams of his Father cum Founder desired to impart contextual system of curriculum to the student community.
The actual dream of the chairman was to start B.Pharm course with new technologies but unfortunately he was passed away due to cardiac arrest.
After the sudden demise of the Chairman Mr.B.Kaliakumar, the then Secretary of the Society cum Brother of the former Chairman Mr.B.Poovaragan was elected new chairman of the BKP Educational society successfully proceeding the BKP educational society and Divine Mother College.
The Present Chairman Mr. B.Poovaragan was a good academician, a well ambitious person and one of the founder of this BKP Educational society following the path of his brother and veritably working to fulfill the dreams of his brother. Under his able guidance and kaleidoscopic supervision the College successfully completed its 8th batch of students.
